電脳遊牧民の憂鬱

うちもパッケージベンダーと付き合いがあり、一部開発に関わっていますが、パッケージって売れてこそなんぼのものなので、開発段階は意外とコストに厳しいですよね。「おいしい」のは売れてからのカスタマイズ。そこで儲けを出すんで、我々もカスタマイズ開発で「うまみ」をお裾分けしていただく、と（笑）

パッケージと言えば、うちのとあるユーザが労務系システムの更新を考えていたので、某メーカーにデモしてもらったのです。まだ開発中という段階だったため説明の途中で営業氏からエンジニア氏に変わったのですが、そのエンジニア氏がとんでもないことを言い出しました。

「中身はお客様の要望通りどうにでも作れます。そのため本体の基本ロジックは空にしてありますから！」

パッケージ＝カスタマイズ当たり前！という考えはユーザにもありますが、これにはびっくり！
結局、パッケージって「エサ」なんですかね？
