無限に続く微分・積分

仕様書って難しいと思う今日この頃。
一般的なプロジェクトで行われている開発手法で仕様書といえば、要求分析に始まり、コーディングに導く為のドキュメントということになると思う。
この辺に限界を感じて久しいけれど、何がいけなくてそうなちゃうのかうまく表現できなかった。
ふと思ったのは、アプローチが悪いんじゃないかということ。
ウォーターフォールに代表される開発手法の場合、開発工程が進むにつれ、ドキュメントの内容を詳細に記述して行く。
いわば、微分みたいなアプローチということになる。
テストの工程に入ると、ソースコードという最小単位に分割したものを、システムとして積分して行って、もとの要求を満たしているかを判定する。
つまり、微分・積分的なアプローチて開発を行っていることになる。
一見、すごく筋が通っているようだけれども、中々うまく行かない。
何故かといえば、開発工程毎、微分したドキュメントを作っているようで、実は別の言葉なり表現方法に変換しているので、どうしても不一致になる部分が出てくる。
また、仮に公式のようなものがあって、書いたものを次の工程のものに変換するイメージだとしても、現実社会はもっと複雑で単純変換ができない。
もし、公式があるとするならば、要求をある形式に書き表しただけで、システムを作ってくれるような魔法のツールが存在するはずだ。
現実に、そういったものは存在しない。
会ったとしても、公式的に表せる部分についてソースコードを自動生成してくるようなもので、決して全てを自動化することはできないだろう。
(遥か未来は実現するかもしれないけど・・・。)
そういった意味で、このアプローチは破綻してしまう。
最終的に無限に微分を繰り返して、莫大なドキュメントを作り出す。
こうなると、作業量的に破綻するか、作る側が全てを網羅できなくなるかのどちらかになってしまう。
アジャイル開発のようなアプローチというのは、微分・積分というアプローチと少し違うので(途中を具現化しない)うまく行くのかもしれない。
じゃあ、アジャイルってどんなアプローチだろ？？
