何となくガシガシいじって壊してもいいような鯖が欲しくなった。
せっかくなので、最近一般的になってきてる自宅鯖などと言うものも構築してみたいと思ったりもして。
しかし、ハードの知識がない・・・。
はるか昔に自分で自作マシンを組み立てたが、その時は友達に全部パーツを揃えてもらって、ほぼ組みあがった状態だったのでほとんど記憶もない。
人間、苦労しないと覚えないようだ。
とりあえず、友達に聞き込みしてマザーボードなどのパーツを教えてもらう。
しかし、話がほとんどチンプンカンプン。
好きこそものの上手なれとはいうけど、恐ろしく知識が違う。
ハードは全然ダメです。。。
電気系は昔から弱い。
学生時代の電気・電子系の実習もダメだった。
今日は、とりあえず聞きかじりの知識を元にお店を偵察。
しかし、お店行くとやっぱね。。。
物欲モード全開です。。。危険！
貧しいんだから少しは考えなさいって。。。ネ？

ひとまず、基礎知識用に1冊本を買ってみるのがよいかもしれませんね、、。
結構専門用語は分かりにくかったりするので。
まぁ、かく言うワシは結局メーカー品を買ってしまってますが。メインマシンはノートPCだし...
余ほどゲームばかりとか、音質がどうとかいうことがなければ、難しくはないと思いますよ。
ポピュラーなのを選んで構築すれば。
わたしゃも会社でしかやったことがないんでなんとも
言えませんが…。
ちゅーか、わたしゃも実は鯖立てたい願望なんです。

ツクモに行ったらパーツのセット販売みたいなのがあったのでそれで行ってみようかと思ってます。
お金は正直厳しいですね・・・（ｗ
ベアボーン・キットというのも売っています。これはCPUやメモリ、HDDは自分で調達するタイプのキットです。１００％キットより予算に応じて自分好みに出来るので、どうですか？
私は組立PC派なので、PC9801以降、ノートPC以外は市販PCを買ったこと無いです(^^;
でもサーバ用途ならDELLのタワー型がお勧めですね。あの価格、自分で作ったらできませんヨ。

DELLタワーってサーバとして良いんですか。。
わたしゃ、会社でいつもクロデルと呼んでいるDELLを
使っていましたが、結構作りがちゃっちい感じがします。
２年前ですが…
やはり詳しい方は組み立て派なんですね…
わたしゃは今使っている始めてのＰＣThinkPadノートを買いましたぁ。ローンで。
DELLのタワーって、PowerEdgeシリーズです。マシンとしては良い方だと思います。うちでは３台、２４時間電源入れっぱなしで使ってますが、故障もなく安定して動いていますよ。ただ、大きいのが難点かな？
ただ、自宅サーバならノートPCがいいかもしれません。意外とイケます。2.5インチのHDDは連続稼動は良くないと言われていますが、私が個人的に運用しているあるサイトは1日100万リクエストくらいあるのですが、ノートPCで24間稼動し、５年以上動いています。
あっ、信頼性良いんですね。どうも最初からDELLのイメージが悪く、わたしゃのような見方をしてしまうんでしょう…すみません。みなさん。

DELLの鯖は結構いいみたいですね。
外部環境に晒したわけではないので何とも言えませんが、ウチのプロジェクトでも購入して使っています。
結構、安定していて、早いです。
DELLの鯖に走れなかったのは、メモリ等の拡張が多少高くつくとのことで、少しずつステップアップすることを考えた場合、ベアボーンキットのようなものを選択したいと考えました。
しかし１００万ヒットはスゴイっすね。。。
続けると「主」がいないまま、Uさんとチャット状態になりそうだったので、遠慮しました(^^;
今時はステップアップは考えない方がいいですよ。２～３年後はゴミですから(笑)
サーバのメモリが高いのはECC付だからで、実はECC無でも動いたりします。（混在は不可）HDDもデカいだけあって場所は十分ありますから、自分で買ってきて付ければいいだけです。もちろんそうした場合、DELLは保証外ですと言いますが。。。問題ありません！
100万アクセスではなく「リクエスト」と「レスポンス」の数です。アクセス数がそれだけあったら、今ごろ六本木ヒルズですヨ。
DELLは程良く枯れたハードをチョイスして構成してるので、
その辺が安定性に繋がっているのかな、と思います。
DMで来てたのが「celeron2.53MHz(FSB533MHz)、256MB(DDR3200)、40GB(SATA)」という構成で\29,800!!
コストパフォーマンスは一から自作するよりもはるかに良いですよ。
ハードに興味が無いのならこういうのを買っちゃうのが一番だと思います。
「ハードの勉強がしたい」とか「組み立てるのが好き」というのであれば、
あれこれ悩みながらパーツを買っていけばいいと思います。
