表現欲求

人間、それぞれ多い少ないに関わらず自己表現欲求というものが存在する。
金八先生じゃないけれども、『ひと』一人では生きられない(古い？)。
他者と関わって、小さな社会を築いていく。
よくこの辺が人間特有のものとして語られるけれど、自然界にも存在し、自己アピールのようなものは、動物であれば必ず存在するような気がする。
究極論、オスとメスの存在があり、生物が生存していくプロセスが存在する限りそうだし、現実社会の中に出てきた雛の存在は自己主張を本能的に行わなければ生存すら危うい。
人間社会で見た場合は、これがいささか歪められたり、多様化した形で存在している。
人間の場合、社会が会社であったり、家庭であったり国であったりするわけで、この辺が話しをややこしくするのかもしれない。
なんでこんな事を考えているかと言うと、青蛙大王さんの意見にあったようなエセ技術者とか言われるものが何故生まれてくるのか？ということに疑問が生じたのだ。
こういった話はよく聞く。
私が思うに、クリエイティブな人間かそうじゃない人間かという境目があるのではないか？と思っていたのだが、これは、少し大味な考え方な気がしてきた。
きっと、もう少し本質的なものが隠されているような気がする。
ピープルウェアを読んでいると、技術者というのは、みんなクリエイティブな人間達で、自分達のやる気を刺激してやればとんでもない力を発揮するという立場で書かれている。
現実の社会で考えたとき、我々はこういった人達ばかりでないことは経験的に知っている。
言われなきゃできないとか、プロとして恥ずかしい不勉強さを恥とも考えない人達がいたりとかそういった人達は現実に存在している。
これらの人達は、自尊心と能力に大きな隔たりがある場合が非常に多い気がする。
労せずして価値あるものを得ようとするのが一つの兆候だ。
つまり、人間的にバランスが取れていないような状態にあると言える。
このバランスの悪さは悪いことであるとは思わないし、この不釣合いを受入れて葛藤していくのが普通だと思う。
ただ、さっき出てきたクリエイティブではない人達は、この不釣合いを良しとしてしまい変化を許容しない人達が多いような気がする。
この変化を促すことにエネルギーを消費しないし、うまく使えないのかもしれない。
このエネルギーの例として挙げられるのは、好奇心であったり、自己実現へのちからだったりする。平たく言ってしまえばモチベーションと言う奴である。
昔、上司に言われたことがある。
『モチベーションというのは、自分の中で生むものだ』
確かにそうである。
その当時、その意味が良く分からなかったが、最近はすごくうなずける。
悲しいのは、この上司は、これを本かなんかの受け売りで言って言ってみただけで、実際の彼は、とてもモチベーションを持って仕事しているように見えないし、自己保身に走りまくっている人であることだ。
結局、モチベーションを自分で作り出せる人間は非常に強く、クリエイティブであるけど、そうじゃない人も世の中にはいるということなのだろう。
モチベーションを自分で作る方法が分からず、もやもやしている人もいるのだろうが、それはそれで探し続ければ見えてくるのではないかと思う。
ちなみに、さっきの言葉の意味を本当に理解するのには、４年の月日を必要とした。
