『スバラシイ』ソースを目にしてしまって考えました。
オフショア開発がうまく行かない原因について、少し思考を進めてみたりする。
中国でのオフショア開発がうまく行かない時、まず考えるべき一つ目の障害として、日本側のシステム開発手法の幼稚さが挙げられると思う。
これは、前にも色々書いたとおり、今の日本のシステム開発が陥っている人材・技術力での悪循環が引き起こすものと思われる。
何せ、ニセ・プログラマー、ニセ・SE(へ？オレ？？)、ニセ・PMが世の中うじゃうじゃしている。
特に、大手メーカーのプロジェクト周辺に多く出没するようだ。
今の自分達の状況がそれに陥っているか考える手立てが一つある。
中国の企業をまったく知らない日本の企業に置き換えた時に、そのプロジェクトが本当にうまく行くかどうかを冷静に考えて見るといい。
しかも、その日本の企業は遠隔地にあって、連絡手段は限られているとする。
その場合にも、そのプロジェクトはうまく行くと言い切れるなら、また、世間様に公表しても恥ずかしくないレベルであると確信したならば、多分、クリアしていると思う。
世間様のレベルを知らずに、大丈夫だと言い切る人も結構居るので、よくよく周りの状況を知った上で考えて欲しい。
某オフショアのコンサルタントの人のサイトを拝見しても、書かれているのは普通の開発である。
あまり中国オフショア特有の事象は少ないはずだ。
さて、今回は、このレベルからもう１歩先に進んで考えてみる。
(ふー、前置きが長い・・・)
次のレベルとして、そもそも、小中規模の開発で、一般的に良いとされる手法が、オフショア開発で通用するのか？ということである。
何故、小中規模の開発かと言えば、世の中の開発の多くは、小中規模の開発だし、大規模開発であれば、ウォーターフォールで、ガチガチにやるのがいいと個人的には思うからである。
小中規模の開発で有効な開発手法といえば、アジャイルを思い浮かべてしまう。
短期決戦を繰り返すスタイルの開発である。
この中で面白いのは、それぞれの参加者の意識の共通、仕様の意識をイメージで掴もうとする点である。
最終的な成果物は動くソフトウェアなわけで、それが具現化する前の段階は隠喩として仕様を共有しようという考え方である。
小中規模のシステム開発において、この辺が一つポイントになりそうだと思う。
イメージを共有すると言う行為は、非常に高度な作業だと思う。
自然言葉の難しさというのはこの辺から来るのだから。
個人的には、人間の思考を形作るものは、記憶(経験)だと思う。
仮にクローン人間が医学的に可能であったとしても、元になった人を同じ人間になるかと言えばそれは難しいだろう。
まったく同じ外的刺激なんて与えることは出来ないのだから。
そういった意味で、可能な限りイメージを近づける手法と言うのが研究されているんだと思う。UMLしかり、ソフトウエアパターンしかり。
ここまで考え、オフショア開発に立ち戻ってみると、同じ文化圏でオフショアをやる場合と、それ以外でオフショア開発をやる場合違いが海外オフショアでの勘所を指し示してくれそうな気がする。
自分がこれから学んで行かなければならない方向性も指し示してくれる様な気がする。

的確な表現ですね。ただただ感心しました。

ここは難しいところです。
細分化の方向性を間違えてしまうととんでもないことになります。
例えば、細分化をドキュメントの記述を増やすとか、細かくすると言う方向で進むと、確実じハマります。
前に、先輩がやっていたプロジェクトで失敗した事例があります。何せ、ドキュメントはコンパイルできませんから・・・。
しっかりしたドキュメントとか、隠喩としての共有と言うのは、ユニバーサルデザイン的なものじゃないかな？と思うんです。
万国共通で認識できる部分をどれだけ増やせるかということです。
UMLを用いたとしても、そこからイメージされる実装が異なっていては意味がありませんから。
また、コスト面の問題も同時に発生してくるので更に問題が複雑化します。
現在、残念なことに、海外オフショアの最大の強みはコスト面です。
例えば、すごく優秀な人間を雇い入れたり、コンサルタントを雇い入れたとしても、コスト割れしてしまえば意味がありません。
そういう意味で、小中規模の開発では、金銭的なバッファが小さい為、リスクを伴ってしまう気がします。
この辺をブレークスルーする為の方法は、現在のところ、担当するリーダーのバランス感覚のみが頼りになってしまっています。
この辺をうまくノウハウとしてマニュアル化できれば、企業としては非常に強い武器になるでしょうね。

最近思うのです、アウトプットしたDOCって、その後全然見られないというか、見られる（参考にする）確率って０
に近いような気がします。
初期のマイクロソフトはDOCなしで開発していたため、DOCに起こす作業にとてつもないコストがかかったと

その失敗したプロジェクトのメンバーに言いたいのは、ちょっと安直過ぎないか？ってことです。
細分化をするなら、イメージを細分化すべきなんですよね。
ただ、その際に、一度、論理に分解して再構築する必要があるんじゃないかと思うんですよ。
その作業がモデリングという作業だと思います。
結局、万国共通の言葉って数学しか無いわけで、ああいったレベルでどれだけ仕様を表せるかというのが鍵だと思います。
この表現は、ちょっと抽象的すぎますね。。。
例えば、クラス図の関連のロールでうまく仕様を表現したりとかそういうことです。
その辺を気づかせてくれたのがあの本なんですよね。
マイクロソフトの話は知りませんでした。

極論ですが、自然言語に依存しない世界で意思疎通が可能か？ということになりますね。ＵＭＬなどのモデリングはそこを目指しているんでしょうが、結局お互いに「習得」しなくては意味が無いんじゃ机上の理論じゃないか？とずっと思っています。
やはりテレパシーを磨くのが一番です（冗談デス

自然言語にまったく依存せずに意思疎通することはきっと不可能なんでしょうね。
そういった意味で、UMLの限界はあると思います。

しかし、言語の習得は、自然言語でも行われてることで、共通認識としての表現方法としては、今、一番進んでいるように感じます。
今後、もっと、別の方法が出てくるかも知れませんけど。。。

MSの件は父から聞いたのですが、たぶん本当だと思いますよ。
で、本ありました。ちょと高くｗ買うことはできませんでしたが、読んできました。確かにロール部分は丁寧に解説していました。
というより、こんな本まででてきたんだぁ～って思いました。ちょと衝撃。
UMLの本って今はどの本屋でも置いていますが、結果としてUMLの各図に落ちるまでのプロセスに関しての説明が不十分な書籍が多いなって思います。
サンプルもいつも同じような内容だし…
本の中だけでわかっても実際の実践現場だとUML全然書けない人が続出なんですよね。
だいたい、ユースケースが書けない…
わたしゃも偉そうなことは言えませんが（笑）
PS自然言語への傾向ですかぁ～。確か「なでしこ」とかいうOSだったか言語がありましたね。
